Hello, 
My name is Becky and I am the World Missions Sargeant for the Gateway Citadel of the Salvation Army here in St. Louis, MO.  Our church has partnered with several 3rd world countries such as Africa and the Congo.What that means is that each April all the monies that have been raised over the past year are distributed to overseas lands such as these where the needs are great and the resources are few. 
As the Missions Sargeant my goal is to inform my church family of these special needs and also to inform them of everything that is being done to improve these people's lives. Presently we are working on the act of self-denial. This is basically something we may deny ourselves on a daily, weekly or even monthly basis, and then give that money to the World Missions.
